The Hoffman's Ferry Rickhouse provides us with increased flexibility for optimizing production of our whiskeys and that flexibility will ultimately help us maintain our ongoing growth trajectory. The team at Hoffman's Ferry is easy to work with and made it seamless to store our barrels in an environment where our spirits will age to perfection." - Andrew Gilchrist, Cooperstown Distillery

WHAT IS A RICKHOUSE?

A rickhouse is a building specifically designed to store barrels for aging spirits. Storing barrels is a science… The materials the building is made of can have an effect on the aging process. Our pole barn rickhouse, made of pressure treated wood and tin, is the perfect environment for your spirits to age beautifully.

CHANGING WITH THE SEASONS...

Most rickhouses are not temperature controlled, so the interior temperature fluctuates with the seasons. That fluctuation is what pulls the spirits in and out of the wooden barrel. This process is what gives the spirits their flavor, color, and aromas. The changing weather adds depth to the spirits as they age.
